Comedy sketch show coming its 48th season on 1 October: This weekend sees the highly anticipated return of Saturday Night Live. The long-running comedic sketch program will welcome actor Miles Teller as the emcee when its 48th season premieres on October 1. After starring opposite Tom Cruise in the biggest movie of the year, Top Gun: Maverick, Teller will be hosting Saturday Night Live for the first time. Two brand-new SNL episodes will air on October 8 and October 15 after the debut.

Kendrick Lamar, who is currently touring to promote his new album, Mr Morale & The Big Steppers, will perform with host Teller this weekend. The rapper will be performing music on SNL for the third time. Before his new movie, The Banshees of Inisherin opens in theatres on October 21, Irish actor Brendan Gleeson will make his hosting debut the following week (8 October). Willow Smith will sing songs from her most recent album, COPING MECHANISM, which is released the day before on 7 October, in her SNL debut that evening.

Megan Thee Stallion will be performing and hosting simultaneously on October 15 in support of her most recent album, Traumazine. On Saturday night at 11.30 p.m. ET on Peacock, Live will be shown. SNL is available as a live stream on Hulu + Live TV for viewers in the US.

The NBC website also hosts episodes of SNL. To stream on Hulu and NBC if you’re abroad, use a VPN to connect to a US server. On Peacock, you can see every episode of Saturday Night Live before this one. New SNL episodes are broadcast on NOW and Sky Comedy in the UK.

Along with Heidi Gardner, Mikey Day, Andrew Dismukes, Chloe Fineman, James Austin, Punkie Johnson, Bowen Yang, Michael Che, Colin Jost, Ego Nwodim, Sarah Sherman, and Cecily Strong, Emmys host, Kenan Thompson will be back for the 2019 season.

Aidy Bryant, Pete Davidson, Alex Moffat, Melissa Villaseor, Aristotle Athari, and Kate McKinnon are among the cast members that have left Saturday Night Live in the previous year. Chris Redd also made his departure known on Monday, September 19.
